Not only is art a fundamental part of being human, but is it used as a method to express oneself. It was, and still is, used to explain the world, and its mysteries, around us. The ancient Greeks used art in this way and pottery was one of these methods. They often did this by depicting their mythology on their vessels which served as the story through which they explained their world.

My current body of work focuses on recreating ancient Grecian vessels and mythology in a contemporary way through the use of more modern color and design. I do this so people can connect more with art history and correlate their own experiences to these myths which both have moral lessons and are used to explain the way the world works, most of which still hold true in modern society today.
